Career Highlights

DeWayne Ewing was a three-sport standout at Northwestern High School where he played football, basketball and baseball.

But it was football for which he will be remembered as he set several school records. In his junior season, he completed 113 of 209 passes (54 percent), had 31 touchdown passes and 1,846 passing yards.

During his senior season in which he missed two games due to injury, he completed 172 of 327 passes (53 percent), had 27 touchdown passes and 2,502 passing yards. Statistically, he was the third best signal-caller in the state as a senior and 10th best as a junior.

Ewing played collegiately at Butler University, where he departed with nine school records after playing in 33 games in four seasons. His impressive Bulldog resume includes 7,743 yards in career total offense, 656 career completed passes (including a record 246 in 2000) and 8,094 career passing yards (3,182 in 2000). In October 2000 against San Diego, he threw for a school record 497 yards.

He was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player his junior and senior seasons and was named First Team All-Pioneer Football League his senior year.
