Career Highlights

Dan Dunn is considered the most successful horseshoe pitcher to ever play in Howard County. A 1958 Kokomo High School graduate, Dunn has won state, national and world championships and is a member of the Indiana State Horseshoe Pitchers Association Hall of Fame.

He is a two-time world champion having claimed titles at the 2014 National Horseshoe Pitchers Association Team World Tournament (Class A) and the 2017 NHPA World Horseshoe Tournaments (Elder A1 Division). He has five top 10 world championship finishes, including a runner-up finish (Senior Division) in 2011.

On the national stage, Dunn was crowned the 2007 national champion (Senior Division) at the National Senior Olympic Games in Louisville, Kentucky. At the time of his induction, Dunn ranked second in the nation in the NHPA Men’s Elder Division with a ringer percentage of 82.22.

In his home state, he was crowned the ISHPA Elders Division state champion in 2015 and 2016. He won Indiana Senior Olympic state championships in 2006, 2011 and 2012 while taking home a first place at the 1992 NHPA Indiana State Fair Tournament in Class A.
