Career Highlights
Lisa Thompson Bickel played key roles on state and national championship teams. She starred on Kokomo High School’s 26-0 Lady Kat 2002–03 4A State Championship team, then on Indiana Wesleyan’s 38-0 2007 NAIA National Championship team. At KHS, she totaled 646 points, 377 rebounds, 93 steals, and shot 56.4% over four varsity seasons. As a senior, she averaged 15.5 points, six rebounds, and shot 58% from the field. Across her four years, the Lady Kats went 86–10 with three sectionals, two regionals, and one state title.At IWU, she helped the program to a 56-game win streak over two seasons, still the NAIA record for consecutive wins. In 128 games, she posted 1,108 points (8.7 ppg), 476 rebounds (3.7 rpg), and 56% shooting. As a senior, she earned NAIA All-American honors. Thompson Bickel later coached girls basketball at Kokomo and Eastern, including a state runner-up finish. She also volunteered summers with the Indiana Basketball All-Stars for Games Director Charlie Hall. She played tennis at KHS, winning two sectionals and two regionals. As Eastern’s tennis coach, she led the program to its first-ever sectional and regional titles. Lisa and her husband, Kasey Bickel, live in Kokomo. She is employed by the Eastern School Corporation.
