Brian McCauley
Career Highlights
Thriving on the hardwood as a player and coach, Brian McCauley helped Kokomo win three sectional championships, two regional titles, and three North Central Conference crowns during his three years as a player. As head coach of the Wildkats from 2006-14, he guided his squads to five more sectional titles, a regional and semistate crown, and a runner-up finish in the 2011 IHSAA State Finals. In eight years as the Kats’ coach, McCauley’s teams had seven winning seasons, including three 20-plus win seasons, compiling a 130-58 record (.691 winning percentage). In his playing days, McCauley shared the team’s co-MVP honors twice with Lee Coomler. In his final two seasons, the Kats went 46-6, including a school-record 19 game winning streak to start his senior season. Known for his sharpshooting skills, McCauley shot 44 percent from the field, 40 percent from beyond the 3-point arc, and 80 percent from the free throw line. His strong shooting carried over to Olivet Nazarene College, where he still holds the school record for career 3-pointers made (258) and ranks 29th on the all-time scoring list with 1,339 points. McCauley was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Freshman of the Year and was an allconference selection at Olivet. He helped lead the Tigers to four national tournament appearances, including their first Final Four appearance in the NAIA national tournament in 2000. Brian McCauley is a teacher at Noblesville High School. Brian and his wife, Amy, of 24 years, live in Noblesville with their children, Andrew and Nadia.
