Terry Downham
Career Highlights
A name synonymous with Kokomo athletics for nearly half a century, Terry Downham has served Haworth and Kokomo athletic departments for over 50 years. He became the familiar PA voice at Kokomo boys’ and girls’ basketball games. He also spent 35 years as KHS Sports Information Director, creating and publishing Kat Chatter. Beyond KHS, he spent more than 35 years on the Indianapolis Colts stat crew and worked the 2012 Super Bowl. He has served 25+ years as the PA spotter for Purdue football and worked the Big Ten Championship stat crew. He also served the Indiana All-Stars (Game Day and Reunion Coordinator, PA) and the IHSBCA (1985 All-Star co-director, All-Star Coordinator), and handled PA, scoring, and softball stats for the Mid-Central Conference tournament, Bethel College, and Carroll High School. He served as North Central Conference Secretary-Treasurer for 12 years and launched the NCC website. Honors include the 2017 Bob Williams Helping Hand Award (ISSA) and the 2018 Virgil Sweet Award (IBCA), and he is a founding member of the Howard County Sports Hall of Fame. A retired KHS teacher, he and his wife, Judy, have been married 46 years, live in Burlington, Indiana, and have two adult children, Jennifer and Stephanie.
